The Marlo Ratepayers and Residents Association ( MRRA ) began in 1978 as the Marlo Progress Association.  The association was formed as a means of giving Marlo residents a voice with the then Orbost Shire Council.

In the early 1990's the Marlo Progress Association became the Marlo Ratepayers and Residents Association.

Prior to Marlo Landcare, the group planted trees in the cutting on Marlo Road and around the jetty area, as well as beach cleanups prior to the Christmas Holidays.

In the last few years the MRRA have implenteda number of new projects for Marlo:

- new shared pathways on Jorgensen St and Marine Parade

- upgrading of walking tracks to Sampsons beach

- Marlo Community Website

The biggest achievement is having the East Gipplsand Shire Council see the MRRA as the voice for the Marlo Community.

The MRRA meets every second month and all community members are welcome at the meetings.

The meetings are advertised in the Snowy River Mail and under community notices on the Marlo Community Website.

If you have any issues or ideas for future projects that you think the MRRA can help with, please feel free to join us at one of our meetings or alternatively contact one of the commitee members.
