Marlo Landcare

Just over 20 years ago, people across Australia began to look at our land and decided that they could do something to protect it.

These people started getting neighbours together, sharing knowledge of the land and coming up with practical solutions.

The Landcare movement has more then 4,000 community landcare groups and many thousands of landcare volunteers in rural and urban areas across the country.

Marlo Landcare is just one of these groups, covering an area from Cabbage Tree across Marlo Plains to Marlo.

At present we are in the process of installing an interpretation board at the Cabbage Tree Palms, including a map of day trips in the surrounding area.  We are also looking at having bat and bird boxes constructed.

In the future we also hope to work with other community groups and locals in cleaning up several sites around the Marlo foreshore, as well as our continuing support of the local farming community.
